Endodontics is the area of dentistry involving dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth. “Endo” comes from the Geek work of “inside” and “odont” is Greek for tooth. During endodontic treatment or root canal treatment the soft pulp tissue inside a tooth is treated. Failing to heal infected tissue can lead you to lose your teeth. Our Korean endodontist is specialized in saving your teeth.
The dental pulp is the inner part of your tooth. The pulp is protected by the outermost part of the tooth, the so called enamel as well as the dentin that lies underneath the enamel. That way the pulp is protected from being infected by microbes present in the mouth.
If you get a tooth decay, the outer cover erodes away to form holes or cavities that expose the dental pulp to the microbes and also to hot and cold temperatures. As the pulp is full of blood vessels and nerves, infection of the pulp can lead to sensitivity and toothache. An endodontist can save your teeth. Get in touch with us to find out more.
